Recreating Nature's Recipe
Every diamond, mined or grown, is simply carbon crystallised under intense heat and pressure.
A lab-grown diamond begins with a tiny slice of diamond called a seed. Using one of two proven methods, scientists surround that seed with carbon and recreate the exact conditions found deep within the earth. Atom by atom, a real diamond grows, identical in every way to one pulled from a mine.
Two Paths To The Same Diamond
Both begin with a seed and end with a genuine diamond. They differ only in how the carbon is delivered.
HPHT
The seed is surrounded by pure carbon and placed under pressures above 1.5 million pounds per square inch at temperatures near 1,500°C, mirroring the forces deep in the earth's mantle. The carbon melts and crystallizes onto the seed, building a rough diamond outward in every direction.
CVD
The seed rests in a sealed chamber filled with a carbon-rich gas such as methane. The gas is heated until carbon atoms break free and settle onto the seed layer by layer, building the diamond upward, much like frost forming on glass.

The Diamond Seed
Every diamond starts with a flat sliver of an existing diamond, the seed, placed inside the growth chamber. It provides the blueprint the new crystal will build upon.
Growth Begins
Carbon is introduced, either as pure carbon under crushing pressure (HPHT) or as a heated carbon-rich gas (CVD). Carbon atoms bond to the seed and the diamond starts to form.
The Rough Forms
Over roughly six to ten weeks, layer upon layer of carbon crystallises, growing a rough diamond, exactly the way nature does, only far faster.
Cutting
The rough crystal is studied, mapped, and cut by master craftspeople using the same precision techniques applied to mined diamonds, releasing the stone's hidden brilliance.
Polishing
Each facet is polished to exacting angles so light enters, bounces, and returns as fire and sparkle. This is where a diamond truly comes alive.
Grading & Certification
An independent laboratory grades the finished stone on the 4Cs and issues a certificate. Every Shinewine diamond arrives with this proof of its quality and origin.

A Genuine Diamond, Every Time
Whichever method is used, the outcome is the same: pure crystallised carbon that scores a perfect 10 on the Mohs hardness scale and shares the identical chemical, physical, and optical properties of a mined diamond.
That is why a lab-grown diamond passes a standard diamond tester, is graded on the very same scale by the very same laboratories, and lasts a lifetime. The process is different. The diamond is not.
